Full time education

Full time education is when the course is funded by either yourself, the Scottish Ministers, the welsh assembly, the Young People's Learning Agency for England; the Chief Executive for Skills Funding; and you do more than 16 hours of supervised learning each week.

If your course is defined as a full time education or course by your college or university then you are also in a full time course.

If you are on a sandwich course or modular course, the rules for deciding whether all or part of the course is full-time are more complex. You should seek the advice of an experienced benefits adviser.
